Daniel Maggio is an Assistant Professor and joined the Department of Economics in Fall 2024. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Economics from Cornell University in 2024 and holds an M.A. in Economics from Boston University. His work is positioned at the intersection of development and health economics, studying social protection programs and those intended to improve maternal and child health in Low- and Middle-Income Countries. Maggio has worked as a consultant at the World Bank and International Food Policy Research Institute and held a visiting position at the Oxford University Center for the Study of African Economies.
